#2 Interpret/explore/explain the context and the significance of the quote “Every white person on this res should get smashed in the face. But let me tell you this. All the Indians should get smashed in the face, too.” (42) -Ben

          All the people on the reservation deserve to be smacked in the face. All, except for Junior gave up. All the other Indians gave up. As shown in the picture on page 43 hope is away from the reservation which is why he needs to leave. He would not be able to leave if he had given up. Since the other Indians gave up they no longer have hope, outside of the reservation. The white people in the reservation taught the Indians to give up. They should get smacked in the face for this. They are taking away hope and killing the Indian culture thinking it will save children. Both sides are wrong, so both deserve a smack in the face. Both sides though need to be forgave, so the next generation can be given hope.
